BIONICLE: Gen 1 or Gen 2?

Now that Year One of the BIONICLE reboot is officially over, I think it is time to ask: which is better? Now, please keep this only to the FIRST YEARS of each generation: 2001 and 2015 (I can't find a fully fleshed out, written version of the 2015 story to link here, unfortunately. Read the books).

Please try to keep nostalgia out of this.

Well, I don't know what the new story is, but the sets look horrible for the new stuff.

And, I mean, you can't beat the Adventures series.

Now now, this is about the Hunt for the Masks, not Adventures. But Adventures was and still is one of may favorite book series of all time. Greg did a great job with them, especially Time Trap.

My favourite book series was probably the Dark Elf Trilogy, Redwall, or the Book of Swords.

I would have to say Gen 1, because the new stuff has just been so bad that I have a prejudice against it even if I haven't heard the story yet. Partly because Lego has screwed evereything up recently with stuff like NexoKnights and Chima, and I have no faith in their writers.
